Verse: Judges. 5:7 KJV
I have come to realize that when God makes us a promise or there is a prophetic word given to us, most often there is a gap between the promise made and its fulfillment… a gap I like to call the “until phase or the journey”!
So how are we, as believers, supposed to respond in this transitional phase using the story of Deborah?
Deborah was a prophetess and Judge in Israel who exceled at her mandate, career, personal relationships and ministry.
What were those keys that made her successful?
1. Courage:
Deborah was called by God to lead at a difficult time and in order to be successful she needed courage. She had to step forward with bravery in obedience to God to lead the Israelites.
God is waiting for your assurance, and obedience in His plans for you. Be brave enough to step out in obedience and take that first step?
2. Assistance or help.
Deborah’s success in carrying out her mandate and mission to restore peace to the land of Israel and in the battle against Sisera and Jabin is due to the assistance she got from God, Barak and Jael.
We all need assistance. We need the Baraks and the Jaels.
The mistake we make is to think that in our journey to greatness or success, in our “until” phase we do not need help.
That’s a big lie!
3. Personal responsibility and accountability
Deborah strategized and executed the plan to bring down Jabin. She didn’t just give the word and wait for it to be executed. Though Barak was responsible to get the job done she had to make sure it was done.
No excuses!
We have to take personal responsibility and accountability to ensure the task is done.
So, with Courage, help and accountability, Deborah succeeded in her Kingdom calling, her roles as an intercessor, a prophetess, a judge, military strategist, beyond her gender and culture. These are keys I think would help us succeed in reigning in life and being a success.
LORD, please grant us tenacious courage every day to step out in faith. I pray that You will arise and help us in our journey to being all You have promised we will be. I pray that You will connect us with people who will help us achieve purpose and destiny and please help us with our sense of responsibility.
In Jesus name Amen.

Wow this got me thinking especially the part that said we need people, we need assistance to succeed. Thats true; no one person can succeed alone but again we have to be careful in choosing who and who will assist or who and who we will also accept assistance from. The world we are living in is deep. While waiting for fulfilment of promise or prophesies we don't just sit down we all have a role to play. God will help us in Jesus name Amen
Nice one Gee!
True We all need a support system, it's a key component to success….
And may God help us to be strategically positioned while we await fulfillment of prophecies, amen
